When the world opened back up post-Covid, my family took an unforgettable summer trip to Niagara Falls, staying at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino on the American side. The resort provided a comfortable and convenient base for our adventure. The rooms were lovely—spacious and well-appointed—offering a nice retreat after long days of exploring. The resort has a couple of dining options, though if you want to venture out for meals, having a vehicle is helpful since there aren’t many restaurants within walking distance.

One of the perks of staying at the Seneca Niagara Casino is its proximity to the falls. It’s just a 5-minute drive or a 35-minute walk, making it easy to access the main attractions without much hassle. We took full advantage of the proximity and embarked on the iconic Maid of the Mist boat tour. The company will provide you with a rain poncho. To say it's misty is an understatement. The experience was exhilarating, taking us right to the heart of the falls, where the powerful spray and thunderous roar of the water completely immersed us.

We also experienced the Cave of the Winds tour, where we walked along wooden platforms beneath the Bridal Veil Falls, getting up close to the cascading water. It’s one of the most intense, exciting ways to feel the power of the falls up close, and we loved every second of it. Be advised, you will get even wetter on this tour than on the Maid of the Mist!

For those wanting to cross over to the Canadian side, remember your passport! The views from across the border are absolutely stunning, offering a more expansive perspective of the falls. Not to mention, there are more tourist attractions, restaurants, and entertainment spots on that side, including the lively Clifton Hill area.

Niagara Falls is a fantastic destination year-round. Summer brings warm weather perfect for the boat and walking tours, while winter offers a magical scene with the icy falls illuminated by colorful lights at night. In fall, the vibrant foliage adds a new layer of beauty to the landscape.

If you’re looking for a reasonably priced weekend getaway with stunning natural sights, Niagara Falls is the perfect choice. Whether you’re there for the awe-inspiring views, thrilling activities, or chance of luck at the nearby resort, it’s an experience you’ll cherish for years to come.
